Xeno Cluster Missile I, and II Respectively

General

The Xeno Cluster Missile is a variant of the Xeno Division Weapon, the Cluster Missile. Unlike its two other variants, it deals Alien Damage instead. It was first made available in Alien Decimation. It's based on the same principle as the Heavy Cluster Missile, except designed to do use alien damage and a massive DPS increase.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages:

With the benefits of the Cluster Missile and Heavy Cluster Missile, the Xeno Cluster missile has a massive 400+ DPS!! This will quickly melt any ships that enter your range in a matter of seconds, even if half the shots miss a volley of 5 cutters will do as much DPS as if 6 Ranger Swarms.

It also can equip Xeno Munitions for its added effects, this will make the spread almost disappear and add a shield bypass which will work will the armor damage bonus.

The Xeno Cluster missile is also the BEST ways to destroy incoming squadrons as their DPS and AoE usually kill the squadrons before they arrive. This can be good for Dominion Carriers which carry Gladiator Swarm which cannot be taken down easily even with the Manifold Missile.

Disadvantages:

Just like the Cluster Missile and Heavy Cluster Missile is however, quite short range, so Punisher Cruisers outfitted with it have to beware being kited by Battleship fleets as it will be harder for them to get in range. Also, the Decimator Cutter will excel will this weapon as it will always be in range.

It is extremely heavy as Mk I hulls will barely able to equip II while having good armor and shields. Any special will also add a large amount of mass to the hull which is a problem for many Mk I hulls.

To make it even worse it is a blueprint which can only be obtained by defeating Barrage Hives and Harvesters. These fleets are extremely difficult especially the Harvester which was the only hull to contain level II. This meant only heavy coiners got this weapon.

It is also Xeno Division Hulls only, which limits the amount of options that it has in Fleet vs. Fleet combat.

Trivia

  • This weapon was first hinted at in the March update for mobile.
  • This weapon is the first to be a Xeno Variant of an explosive weapon.
  • This is the first legendary item to become a blueprint drop, and not a event prize.
  • This weapon has the Highest DPS in the game
  • After the April Patch Notes the Xeno Cluster Missile was changed to fire a short burst like the Burst Ray.
  • Its spread was changed from 40% to 20% after KIXEYE realized the weapon would rarely EVER hit its target
  • The Xeno Cluster Projectiles are tinted green.
