Volatile Fuel are a booster to explosive weapons. They were first avaiable in the event Crossfire, and returned in the event Maelstrom. They vastly increase the explosive radius and greatly increases the speed of explosive missiles. They are exclusive to battleships only and enhance explosive weapons to a deadly effect. They are very popular weapon boosters amongst mid level and high level players.
Strategy and SetupEdit
Volatile fuel enhances the use of NET torpedoes and explosive weapons to a synergistic effect, in that when these pair of weapons are used together, they become more deadly than being used individually.
All explosive weapons both have increased speed and can more reliably hit pursuing cruisers, crippling them and destroying them with ease. The vastly increased explosive splash damage makes explosive weapons capable of inflicting to groups of many ships, NET torpedo's bolt can stasis groups of ships as well. This has a disruptive effect on players who prefer using tight formations with their fleets who choose to disband the formation, or a destructive effect if players refuse to separate their ships, allowing explosive weapons to do damage to multiple ships simultaneously.
The splash damage inflicts equal damage to all ships in the area of effect regardless of how distant they are to where the explosive missile or torpedo detonated.
Volatile fuel use a significant amount of mass, especially when combined with high level weapons.
Only battleships can use them.
- Volatile Fuel is a unique hybrid of a speed modifier and Antimatter Warheads, and has the greatest AOE increase of all specials in the game.
