General

The Skirmish Resistor combines the Energy Resistor and Explosive Resistor to protect against two damage types at once. It can only be equipped on the Punisher, Guardian and Bastion Cruisers.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages

Skirmish Resistors increase your Energy and Explosive resistance, enabling your ships to fight effectively at close range, against both Striker and Defense targets.

Hybrid resistors are much more mass efficient than individually equipping two basic resistors. They also have no repair time and actually increase the repair efficiency of your cruisers as the added resistance effectively grants extra armor.

Disadvantages

Hybrid resistors lack Alien resistance; be wary of advanced Xeno/Alien weaponry!

Trivia

  • The Skirmish Resistor is named after the Skirmish Armor, which also resists Energy and Explosive damage.
  • It was originally intended to cost 4%/7%/10% ship mass.
