The rancor battleship is the first battleship class hull you are able to construct. It is a widely known hull that serves players very well through a majority of the mid-game, becoming a very prominent instant repair battleship. == The Gladius Rancor ==
Quality
Strengths:Potent firepower, long range
Weaknesses:Durability is quite low, doesn't last long against concentrated fire
The gladius rancor is one of the most widely used variations of the rancor battleship. It has long range, great firepower, and very decent speed. Variations of the build exist, more specialized towards farming, however the gladius rancor has stood the test of time and become an exceptional build that all players should use at one point or another.
== The Hydra Rancor ==
Specialist
StrengthsDecent firepower, good range, never misses
WeaknessesParticularly easy to kite despite the range, not effective in FvF
The hydra rancor is a very decent farming build, particularly to farm Rebel Cargo (27). A small number of these battleships paired with a harrier frigate decoy are capable of farming the fleets to acquire better blueprints.
It has only sub-par use in FvF, given that most enemy fleets will kite it. It however can be effective against frigates which must get close to engage.
== The HEX Rancor ==
Uncommon
Strengths:Good range, very decent firepower
Weaknesses:Can be kited by longer-range weapons and is less effective at range

== The Vector Rancor ==
Quality
Strengths:Long range, great firepower, almost never misses
Weaknesses:Does not deal damage very rapidly, can be dodged by fast ships
The Vector Rancor is a popular FvF build for the hull, utilizing the deadly homing vector torpedo. With long range and great firepower, it's a potent weapon to use on the rancor. It however is rather poor when dealing with agility fields or faster ships that can flee from the torpedoes and render them harmless.
== The Polaron Rancor ==
Second Hand
Strengths:Long range, decent firepower, never misses
Weaknesses:Damage dealt is fairly low compared to other weapons
The Polaron Rancor is a more versatile variation of the Vector Rancor, trading the raw firepower and splash damage for perfect accuracy. This build works very well at kiting enemy fleets, and actually fares better against opposing agility fields given that it's shots will never miss. The damage however is rather low and will render the hull almost harmless if dealing with anything faster then you
