General

The Longbow Destroyer is the beginner level, tier one destroyer of the Miner Rebellion. It can be researched at the Ship Lab.

The longbow Destroyer is primarily used in base attacks and bombardment of enemy ships from long range. It is a ship that has a narrow field of fire, very weak, and lacks shields early on, comparable to all low tier Destroyers.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages:

The Longbow Destroyer is the first destroyer you unlock in VEGA Conflict, and thus the first sniper hull you unlock aswell. The Longbow Destroyer has the massive 150% Modifier Destroyers have.

This range bonus allows many projectile weapons fired from the Longbow can usually outrange all lower tier ships and most Explosive/Energy Turrets making it a great sniper tool and sometimes a good PvP tool aswell.

These also can make very good Civil War fleets used by players. They can deal a very high amount of damage to the usually low leveled enemy and provides little points if destroyed, it also is a free instant repair.

Disadvantages:

However, since this Destroyer is extremely low in tier, it is incredibly fragile. Once many hulls are in range of the destroyer it will not last very long as it cannot equip a shield and has very low armor capabilities.

When using the Longbow in PvP it will usually die, as many weapons will miss at such high ranges and low specials researched, using energy weapons simply makes your range modifier worthless as you will usually be in the enemies firing arc when you get in range.

With all Tier 1 Hulls, once you unlock the Broadsword Destroyer, consider replacing all your fleets with the Longbow with the Broadsword as it is just so much more versatile and more effective overall.

Trivia

  • You get a free Longbow destroyer on the fourth day playing
  • Like most destroyers, the Longbow destroyer is named after a weapon. The longbow is most famous for its ease of construction and simple design. An experienced bowyer can make one in a few hours.
  • These ships are seen frequently during Civil War events as a replacement for the more expensive Broadsword destroyer. These fleets are cheap, hard hitting, and worth next to nothing to the player who destroys them.
