|— In-Game Description|
The Longbow Destroyer is a Tier 1 hull with primitive Miner Rebellion technology.
As a destroyer, this ship has modest firepower but very long range, taking out opponents from afar.
Strategy and Setup
The Longbow Destroyer, like other destroyers, has a range bonus that allows this ship to outrange the vast majority of other ships as well as most Energy and Explosive base weapons. This enables you to destroy opponents without suffering any damage in return.
Rear Thrusters are commonly used to catch other ships, while Strafe Thrusters help the Longbow Destroyer to dodge incoming projectiles at maximum range. Rotation Thrusters may also be used to prevent enemies from exploiting the ship's narrow firing arc by staying in its blind spot.
When upgraded to Mk II, destroyers gain a huge bonus against cruisers, destroying even heavily-armored ones within seconds.
As a destroyer, Longbow Destroyers are very slow and thus unable to kite other ships despite the massive difference in range. They have even less health than Harrier Frigates and are easy pickings once the enemy gets in range to fire. Therefore, Longbow Destroyer pilots should always try to keep a safe distance from enemy targets.
Most weapons used at this level are not homing and thus relatively easy to dodge, allowing skilled Harrier Frigate pilots to evade every single shot and close the distance to take out this ship.
