The Interceptor Wing is an event, projectile weapons equipped, type of squadron wing. It was first available in the event Revenge. It serves as the ship counterpart of the Interceptor squadron for carriers.
They are common amongst players, but less common than Bomber wings, they have a blue/white aura glow about the squadrons itself, differentiating them from carrier launched Interceptor squadrons.
Strategy and Setup
The Interceptor Wing has a very high range, at 9,500 metres, it has equal range with the Spectre Wing. This makes them more so effective against fleets of destroyers. This allows Fleet Bays next to Bridges to be able to defend from any angle.
It makes a great pair with Bomber Wings as they can soak up the anti-squadron projectiles while the Bombers swoop in and deal massive damage to the enemy hull.
The Interceptor wing's lack of firepower and its insufficient health make it unsuitable for repelling against a blitz attack. This is made worse with its slow speed and low health as it will almost always be taken out.
