Interceptor Squadron I, II, and III, Respectively

Outfit your carrier with the projectile firing Interceptor Squadron, the ideal weapon for long range combat.

The Interceptor squadron is an event projectile type squadron. It will be available in the event Face Off.

Interceptor squadrons can be recognized by their silver blue hull and white blue engine trails. They fire small, blue projectile pellets at their targets.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages:

Interceptors have the highest amount of range for a squadron. Out of all base and ship weapons available in game, they are only out ranged by several base turrets such as the Kinetic driver turret.

Interceptors are incredibly light, even the Valhalla carrier can equip four squadrons of Interceptor squadron III with plenty of room for Fusion thrusters and armor. It also has the longest flight time, giving it more time to inflict damage on targets.

Disadvantages:

Interceptors have far less firepower than all other squadrons, they are less deadly in comparison to Bomber squadrons. They have less armor as well and low speed, making them easier to intercept and giving enemy players more time to react or time for ships to destroy them before they begin to inflict damage.

Like the Bomber Squadron, the Interceptor pales when compared to Alien Swarms like the Ranger Swarm and even more so with AXIS Drones like the Yellowjacket Drone.

Setup:

If you don't have Bomber Squadrons equip this 4x level III on your carrier then add specials, armor, and shields afterwards. If you have Bombers try to add 1 level III in with it to allow a much better chance to deal damage.

Like any squadron, stay at maximum range, target important targets like anti-squadron hulls or low health hulls and when running always target the back-most hull.

Trivia

  • Because the Bomber squadron and Fighter squadron were explosive and energy type squadrons, most people speculated the Interceptor Squadron would be projectile type, which turned out to be correct.
  • This is the first projectile type squadron to be released into the game.
