Heavy Cluster Missile I, II, and III Respectively

General

The Heavy Cluster Missile is an advanced Variant of the Xeno Division weapon, the Cluster Missile, designed to increase the amount of damage to actual ship health. It was first released in The 4th Alien Decimation.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages:

Adding on to the Cluster Missiles benefits the Heavy variant has a astounding 200+ DPS which can melt through hulls in an instant if they are not careful. This is the same DPS as the Xeno Disintegrator Cannon II which also excels in combat.

The Heavy Cluster missile is also one of the BEST ways to destroy incoming squadrons as their spread and AoE usually kill the squadrons before they arrive. This can be good for Dominion Carriers which carry Gladiator Swarm which cannot be taken down easily even with the Manifold Missile.

Adding to this, it also has built in armor damage to cause maximum damage to the opponent.

Disadvantages:

Just like the Cluster Missile is however, quite short range, so Punisher Cruisers outfitted with it have to beware being kited by Battleship fleets as it will be harder for them to get in range.

The Heavy Cluster Missile may be fast firing also, but its shots do not track like the Hydra Missile, meaning it cannot hit fast moving targets like Frigates or cutters. However, unlike its previous version it only has a 20% deviation making it somewhat negligible, but it will still have trouble with fast moving ships.

It also cannot equip Xeno Munitions for its added effects, which many players believe it still gives which just wastes alot of mass.

To make it even worse it is a reuseable item. Which gives you a limited amount to equip on your ships. This is bad if you want to use this on high cutter fleets as usually you would have to work very hard to get them at the Alien Decimation event.

It is also Xeno Division Hulls only, which limits the amount of options that it has in Fleet vs. Fleet combat.

Trivia

  • This weapon was first hinted at in the March update for mobile.
  • This weapon is the first weapon to be a Heavy Variant.
  • After the April Patch Notes the Heavy CLuster Missi;e was changed to fire a short burst like the Burst Ray.
  • Its spread was changed from 40% to 20% after KIXEYE realized the weapon would rarely EVER hit its target
