The Harrier frigate is the first frigate-class vessel you are able to construct. It is superior to the voyager corvette in every aspect but despite this is still a fairly weak hull. The harrier has limited builds but has found a use among high-level players as a decoy for fighting certain NPC fleets.
The harrier can be marked up making it a deadly ship to use against destroyers, particularly the NPC artillery fleets. It is also currently the only ship that can be marked up that does not provide a resistor slot.
== The Beam Harrier ==
Strengths:Good DPS, decent durability.
Weaknesses:Short range, easily kited
The disrupter harrier is a powerful and fairly common build for the harrier frigate. It allows this agile frigate to perform decently in close quarters, and is arguably the best build for the harrier in regards to combat. It is also perfect for farming all of the tier 1 rebel crafting fleets.
== The Decoy Harrier ==
Strengths:Very fast and fairly durable
The decoy harrier is arguably one of the most used builds for the harrier frigate, however it's use is found mostly by high-level players.
This decoy works particularly well against NPC fleets, specifically those using carriers. It's best use is against scout supply runs, due to their carriers having a massive scramble range, this allows the harrier to draw the squadrons, turn, and then flee to draw them as far away as possible for the rest of the fleet to move in.
The decoy is also used sometimes in FvF, often set to run away from the enemy fleet to the edges of the battle just in case the fleet should fail, the enemy will still be in battle until the harrier is found.
== The Rail Harrier ==
Strengths:Decent range allows the ship to kite
Weaknesses:Low damage and slow projectiles
The rail harrier is arguably one of the rarer builds for a harrier frigate to equip, but still can be encountered from time to time in low-level combat. The build is fairly good for kiting enemy ships, however the damage is laughable. It's not a very efficient build, and thus should not be used very much, however it works wonders at kiting voyagers and pathfinders.
