 General Edit

The Genesis Cruiser is a beginner level, tier one Miner Rebellion hull. It is the first cruiser, and second ship available for the player to research.

Genesis cruisers are slower than the Harrier frigate, but are more well armored. Generally, it has a balance between offence, defense and maneuverability. See builds for the genesis cruiser here.

Strategy and Setup Edit

Advantages: Edit

Genesis cruisers are more oriented for close range and front line combat. They have more mass and armor than most of the other beginner ships.

Like all other cruisers, they have a 270 deg firing arc, enabling them to engaging ships at a very wide angle. They are ideal for circling or strafing away from enemy ships to dodge hostile projectiles.

Genesis cruisers, like all beginner ships can have instant repair time. Some players take advantage of this by equipping Genesis cruisers with heavier weapons and lighter defense, making them more expendable.

Some players also equip Genesis cruisers with cargo holds for collecting resources when players start building better warships.

Disadvantages: Edit

Genesis cruisers while faster than the Rancor battleship, is not quite as durable. This is an uncommon occurrence, only seen in Tier 1, low level ships. Battleships are proportionally quite fragile in medium level and high level fleets.

Players often prefer to use Rancor battleships over the Genesis Cruiser as they have superior firepower, mass and range, and health.

setup Edit

Beginner players can rely on Scatter missiles and Pulse rays, both of these are solid options in both beginner level PVP and against beginner level VEGA fleets.

Rail drivers are not recommended as they often miss and they have relatively low firepower.

If you have access to more advance weapons and still use Genesis cruisers, Disruptor rays and HEX missiles are good options.

Trivia Edit

  • The Genesis cruiser is the first of the three Rebellion Cruiser-Class ships.
  • In the early stages of closed beta, this ship used to be unlocked after Longbow Destroyer.
  • An enhanced version of the Genesis cruiser used to be available in the market that had improved health, mass and agility. It has since been deprecated in favor of the crafting system.
  • The Genesis cruiser MK II is the first and only ship capable of defying the 300 rule - the 5% armor bonus does not factor in to repair time. Thus, the ship can exceed 300 combined health and armor and retain instant repair times.
