Introduction

There are 6 damage types in VEGA Conflict, damage types specify what type of damage a weapon does which in turn can tell you what damage resistant tech you will need to resist it. Resistance Stacking is for adding resistance, but the main focus of this page is the 6 main damage types in VEGA Conflict: Energy, Explosive, Projectile, Alien, Plasma, and Void.


General

Damage Types

So now that you have a little backstory or whatever it is time to talk a little more about them in general, then we will get into the fundamentals of each damage type. Every weapon will have a damage type, equip the right resistor and it will be negated, got it?


Player Damage Types


These are the damage types players can use. They take up all the weapons obtainable by players but also a lot of NPC fleets as well.

Energy Damage

Energy Damage is represented by two yellow electricity/zig zag bolts. They usually are boosted so that they have a high range, a few exceptions would be the Burst Ray. Energy weapons usually are high ranged but deal medium damage.

This damage type is not very common but it is still sometimes used. Techs that can resist energy damage are the Spectral Shield, Diffuser Shield, Spectral Field, Metaphase Shield, Metaphase Field, EN Heavy Talonite Armor, ENAL Heavy Talonite Armor, Anodized Resistor, Skirmish Resistor, Spectral Armor, Skirmish Armor, Energy Resistors, and Harmonic Exophase Shields.

Weapons that deal energy damage can be found here. An interesting thing to note is that energy shields usually contain the most energy, but also weigh the most.

Explosive Damage

Ex

Explosive Damage is represented by an orange fireball/explosion. They usually deal a lot of damage but suffer from range issues, though nowadays they are simply a much better energy weapon, though in lower tier combat explosive weapons are usually blitz weapons.

The Damage type is extremely prevalent though not as much in higher levels. Techs that can resist explosive damage are the Shockwave Shield, Repulsor Shield, Shockwave Field, Strike Shield, Metaphase Shield, Metaphase Field, EX Heavy Talonite Armor, EXAL Heavy Talonite Armor, Skirmish Resistor, Hardened Resistor, Shockwave Armor, Skirmish Armor, Explosive Resistor, and Harmonic Exophase Shields.

Weapons that deal explosive damage can be found here. An interesting thing to note is that explosive shields usually are the middle ground shields.

Projectile Damage

Projectile Damage is represented by a blue swirl. They are not very common anymore as their role has been taken over by many explosive and energy weapons. They usually have high base range, deal medium damage and are usually slow, often needed speed buffs to be useful. Usually, they are siege weapons.

The Damage type is almost never used as there are simply to many better replacements to justify using them. Techs that can resist projectile damage are the Deflector Shield, Deflector Field, Repulsor Shield, Metaphase Shield, Metaphase Field, PR Heavy Talonite Armor, PRAL Heavy Talonite Armor, Anodized Resistor, Hardened Resistor, Projectile Resistors, and Harmonic Exophase Shields.

Weapons that deal projectile damage can be found here. An interesting thing to note is that projectile shields are the weakest shields, but also the lightest.

Alien Damage

Al

Alien Damage is represented by a green circle swirl with a dot in the middle. They are extremely powerful but also usually highly resisted. They are usually upgraded versions of existing tech hence they are not specific in purpose. Alien Fleets also primarily use this damage type.

The Damage type is always used as they are extremely powerful. Techs that can resist projectile damage are the EXAL Heavy Talonite Armor, ENAL Heavy Talonite Armor, PRAL Heavy Talonite Armor, Xeno Division Hulls, A.X.I.S. Hulls, and Harmonic Exophase Shields.

Weapons that deal Alien damage can be found here. There are actually no Alien specific shields for this type of damage; the only shield that resists Alien damage is the Harmonic Exophase Shield.

Void Damage

Vo

Void Damage is represented by a purple wormhole. All NPC targets have an innate 100% resistance to Void damage, making this damage type PvP-only. It has been said to be extremely effective in PvP. It will be released with the Marauder Faction #soon.


NPC Damage Types


These are damage types only used by NPC Fleets and are unobtainable by players.

Plasma Damage

Pl

Plasma Damage is represented by a pink "eye" emitting shockwaves. They are extremely powerful and used by the Ancient Alien threat. There is very little resistance to this damage as it is very new.

The damage type is only found on Ancient Alien Fleets. Techs that resist Plasma damage include all A.X.I.S. Hulls.

Weapons that deal Plasma Damage can be found here. There are no Plasma-resistant shields or armor yet.
