Destroyers are one of six main types of hulls. All destroyers are based on medieval weapon names, with the exception of the Nexus destroyer, which is named after Google's Nexus phones. Destroyers are long range warships with limited mobility and arc of fire. They boast a considerable range bonus which allows them to attack enemies from afar. Due to their slow speed, they cannot pursue enemy ships and cannot flee from battle. Because of their bonus range attribute of 150%, they often have the advantage of being able to attack the enemy fleet first.
Destroyers now strafe left and right around the target they are firing once they are well within range. This applies to autopilot as well, they only attack the nearest enemy ship and ignores targeting squadrons, they will target squadrons if they're in their firing range but do not make an active attempt to pursue and destroy them.
