Like any other destroyer-class warship, the Broadsword destroyer has a 150% weapons range bonus to all of its weapons. It is a slow ship with very low rotation rates and should typically be used to attack enemies from afar.
It is an ideal ship for attacking another player's base. They are somewhat commonly seen in combat, used by mid level players, configured to a instant repair setup, harassing high level fleets.
Broadsword destroyers have far more mass than the Longbow destroyer. They can equip heavier weapons and deal more damage.
Like all other destroyers, they have a range bonus, and can usually hit the enemy ships first before they get in range.
Broadsword destroyers have a relatively low repair time and if only equipped with weapons, and no armour or shield, they can be repaired instantly, making them completely expendable in combat.
Mid level players enjoy taking advantage of it instant repair to harass and disrupt high level fleets. This however has since been curbed as the minimum cut off to fight high level players has been increased from level 35 to level 40.
Broadsword destroyers are relatively easy to upgrade through the crafting system.
Broadsword destroyers cannot escape from any battle, are easily flanked and have narrow firing range, making them particularly weak to enemy squadrons.
They are less potent in terms of firepower than other ships in its tier, it has less weapon slots.
Destroyers in general are not very durable and not suited for close quarters combat.
All versions of the Broadsword destroy should take advantage of its range bonus.
