AP Driver Turret   Boosted AP Driver Turret

The Boosted AP Driver Turret (Armor Piercing) wouldn't be possible without improvements in structural engineering. Each shot can punch though many ships.

Boosted AP Driver Turret I, II, and III, Respectively

The Boosted AP driver turret is an Advanced Version of the AP Driver Turret. The turret has similar characteristics and functionality to the normal version but has more mass and DPS.

It fires projectiles that appear to be a icy blue/white comet. The Boosted AP Driver isn't seen as often due to how much it lacks in DPS and the player pool who actually can use this weapon.

Strategy and Setup:

Boosted AP Driver Turrets have a very high range, higher than the Gemini Driver Turret or Storm Driver Turret, this makes it great as an Anti-Sniping tool to pressure opponents as the range is a large threat to the enemy. It also supports a higher DPS than its template version as well.

The Boosted AP Driver Turret just like the normal version can pierce enemies which can 6x the DPS if your enemy decides to line his/her ships up and rush the base if this happens it will deal 950 DPS to the enemy ships.

It also has a rather small minimal range, but not as small as the Gemini Driver Turret but still small enough for medium ranged combat.

However, just like its template version, its pierce ability is not as effective as most of the time the weapon will be fired at maximum range and skilled opponents wont line the ships up to induce a pierce for the Boosted AP. It also is quite easy to dodge as it has no proximity detection like the Gladius Driver Turret, it also is heavier.

Being a boosted weapon for players who can destroy Alien Outposts it seems very unattractive as the Storm Driver Turrets or Gemini Driver Turrets are much better compared Boosted AP in DPS and speed which many players have and use. Overall, it isn't very worth it if you have these turrets as they are much better.

It also is a reusable item limiting choices to how many Boosted AP Driver Turret credits you have which isn't very good considering they are obtained via strongboxes and many projectile based turrets are needed in bases.

However, if you do wish to use it you should try to place it on the inner most layer of your base to insure more turrets fire on the enemy at the same time or the outermost layers to make it much harder to snipe but easier to rush both layouts have perks and downs, but placing them on the inner layer is more effective.

Iridium Arrays V are highly needed if one wishes to land many shots with the Boosted AP Driver Turret. Try to put Level III and Iridium Arrays V on your combat module along with the maximum armor your module can hold

  • Since Boosted weapons have no real theme to it the Boosted AP Driver Turret received a generic DPS and weight addition.
  • The Boosted AP Driver Turret is almost never used due to it being worse than the standard Gemini Driver Turret which is very popular to use.
  • Just like the original, its high Pierce count isn't impressive as all turrets are glitched to pierce 6 if they can pierce hulls.
