General

Armored Thrusters are similar in function as Fusion Thrusters but provide additional health. They can only be equipped on Demon Corps Hulls.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages

Armored Thrusters are roughly equivalent to Fusion Thrusters plus Zynthium but only take up one special slot, enabling your ships to equip extra armor to provide maximum protection.

Armored Thrusters are slightly faster than Fusion Thrusters in terms of linear speed; ships equipped with this have better kiting and chasing capabilities. They are often used on Covenant Cruisers, Basilisk Cutters, Hellfire Battleships and Dominion Carriers as a replacement to Fusion Thrusters.

Disadvantages

Armored Thrusters cause your ships to turn slightly slower, this is bad for Damocles Destroyers which need the extra speed to prevent enemies from entering their blind spots. Hellfire Battleships also have more difficulty changing directions and defending against squadrons, although this is a relatively minor downside compared to the extra armor and forward speed.

Similar to Fusion Thrusters, Armored Thrusters decrease the strafe speed of your ships, making them unsuitable for frigates designed to kite opponents.
