The Antimatter Scoop is a special type of armor. This armor is used for collecting extra armor antimatter when fighting against VEGA fleets, they are not most ideal in PVP. It was available in the event Search and Destroy (Event). Since this armor is used to grants the fleet bonus antimatter, it should be equipped if you desperately need antimatter.
Antimatter scoop captures additional antimatter, this means if you attack fleets that do not contain antimatter, you will not obtain any antimatter. They increases the concentration of antimatter retrieved in battle, you can only equip one per ship, increasing antimatter retrieval by a total of 60%. The armor efficiency is comparable with somewhere between Tritanium and Iridium armor so it is not ideal in mid level or above PVP battles. They can be good armor option for low level players.
Some high level players equip antimatter scoops on Nighthawk frigates and then upgrade them to MK IV. They send them attack a group of undefended antimatter silos of a friendly base, the friendly player will also do the same. This results in both of them taking each other's antimatter, but the antimatter scoop generates additional antimatter, resulting in the attacker to receive more antimatter than the amount actually lost from the base they attacked.
This process is repeated to generate infinitely more antimatter.
- The Antimatter Scoop uses the same cost stats from Skirmish Armor I and II for level II and III antimatter scoop.
- The Antimatter Scoop is heavily thought as the worst prize in Search and Destroy (Event) and its completely useless in many occasions.
- This was released prior to a major base update patch, during a time when antimatter was abundant and ubiquitous. After the update, antimatter became a desperately needed resource for some players, increasing the value of the antimatter scoop.
